where to be photographed?

We feel it is important to photograph people in an environment that has meaning to them, or (especially in the case of babies, children or animals) one where they feel relaxed and comfortable. We photograph people in their own homes and backyards, their favourite park or playground or out in nature.
If it's more of a studio look you are after, we can bring our portable set-up of backdrops and lighting to where you are or you can come to us at our home in Uki.

what to wear?

Each portrait session is unique, so it will depend on many factors and we are happy to discuss that with you before-hand. As a general guide we suggest wearing clothes that you feel good in, but not wearing patterns or stripes, as they can become too visually dominant. If it is a couple or family portrait, try to have a common colour and style theme between you, while still reflecting your personalities. Try not to have just one person wearing a very bright colour - unless you want them to be the central focus for some reason. You may want to have a few different clothing options plus add-ons, such as a jacket or favourite hat. With children, a favourite toy or something important to them can help them to enjoy themselves as well as add extra meaning to your photos.

what will it cost?

Our creative portrait sessions start at $190. For locations outside of the Tweed Valley there will be a small travel fee that depends on distance. You can then choose from our range of very affordable packages. Our most popular Digital package is $330, which makes a total of $520 for a one and half hour session plus digital images. do you do Gift Certificates?

Yes, we do. They make a fantastic gift and can be used for a portrait session or towards prints or even an album. Just contact us and let us know the amount, your details and the name of the person its for. After payment we will post you a personalised gift voucher for that amount.

how about just a few photos for a CV?

Yes, we provide this type of professional portrait session, starting from 1 hour sessions at our home to longer sessions here, at your home or workplace. You can view examples on our portraits gallery. Our reasonable rates make this a very affordable investment, whether it is for your CV, your website, or other professional applications.
